A Vampire Called Rain

She was born at sunset

Her glassy eyes blinded

In the smoky mist

Treading barefoot & bare breasted

As she dances in the mud and moonlight

Smelling corpses & lilies

Tasting dew and the blood drops

In the thunderous rain, she’s attacked

In the cemetery

Cuts & scrapes up and down her pale skin

She got mauled by dogs & worms

Now the clocks strike dawn &

She drowns in the lake

Rising only to fall again

Burning & crumbling to ash

Dying at sunrise
